GCA’s vision is to see God glorified and his kingdom come among all nations through the global advancement of his church. To date GCA has trained church planters in more than 300 denominations and mission agencies representing over 50 countries and five continents.
Never has there been a time in history when there have been more churches and more professing Christians. Yet, despite the remarkable spread of Christianity, spiritual darkness, and cultural and societal decay are reaching unprecedented levels globally. Even where the Church is growing most rapidly (especially in Asia, Africa and Latin America) the results are often forms of Christianity with little or no true, lasting transformation of individuals, families and cultures.
With more than two billion people around the globe beyond the reach of the gospel, the world is a large, fertile mission field. How will all these be reached? And how will those who are reached be nurtured and equipped for transformational ministry? Pastor and author Tim Keller writes, The vigorous, continual planting of new congregations is the single most crucial strategy for (1) the numerical growth of the body of Christ in a city and (2) the continual corporate renewal and revival of the existing churches in a city.
Professor C. Peter Wagner writes, “The most effective evangelism method under heaven is the planting of new churches.” The most biblical and powerful method to bring the gospel of God’s grace to the nations is through the incarnational ministry of a local church.
The good news is that the radical, renewing work of God, manifested in Jesus Christ in the first century, is continuing today by God’s Holy Spirit through his Church. God works through all kinds of institutions and people in the world, but we must never forget that the Church is God’s primary instrument for making His “ . . . Kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven” (Matt. 6:10).
God has ordained that his Kingdom come with transformational power into every sphere of life, primarily through the Church. This is why the Church is the hope of the world!
